Weirs Rapids

Welcome to Weirs Rapids. A gorgeous spot with rapids spanning all the way across the Maumee River. The view includes Indian Island in the middle of the river. This area is a popular fishing spot. While the walleye is the most common spring target in the Maumee, many other fish use the Maumee for spawning. After the walleye run in early spring, a large run of white bass usually follows. This spot is also where you might catch a glimpse of the longnose gar in late May and early June. You won’t forget seeing this distinctive fish in the shallow waters a few feet offshore, they feature a long narrow snout and a cylinder-shaped body.

At this location you can float around and explore Indian Island, fish, or just chill with hourly rentals available.
